The Law of Relativity

Isn’t relativity a funny phenomenon, your shoes can be very expensive compared to your sister’s shoes, but cheap compared to your neighbor’s shoes. So, are your shoes expensive or cheap? Let’s find out..

Nothing in life has any meaning, except for the meaning that we give it. You get to choose what or who you compare and therefore you choose the meaning. We get to choose if something is cheap or expensive, big or small, rich or poor, good or bad by what we relate it to. No matter how bad you perceive your situation, there is always someone who has it worse.

So if you ever are in a situation you perceive as ‘bad’, why not compare the situation to one that is worse than you. Only then you’ll see that your situation is not that bad at all and you’ll come out stronger. With this new perception, you will keep the positive vibration and therefore a positive situation will come back to you.

Stop comparing yourself to people that are better than you, what is the point? Only if you get a certain a strength for growth to become better than the other, is when it could have a positive effect. Still, you will have to believe you are better, to become better.

I would like to add to this that, The Law of Relativity, wants you to remove the ego out of the equation. Sometimes it is not necessary to compare yourself to others, the only thing you have to compare yourself to is, past self. Have you grown, if you look at yourself a year ago? That is what important. Not if your friend grew more or less.

Be diligent in what you compare yourself too. Be grateful for those things that bring you happiness. Be grateful for what you have because not everyone has it. There is no one else like you, so be you and strive!
